Tillman Crane Palladiums
I’d like to own a Tillman Crane palladium print. At Addison-Woolley Gallery in Portland there is a large showing of his works, and if you’re looking to beef up your art collection, I’d suggest you get over there. Friday 11/14, the artist is speaking in the evening as well.
My preference has always been Tillman’s still lifes/object portraits and I’d like to own “Caravan” – I know I would never tire of looking at it. It actually is a combination of object and landscape, and a completely perfect photograph. Other images in the show that I loved are another such object/landscape combo “Kitty and Sandy’s Seat” – wow, do places like that really exist in the world? and then still lifes “Bell Pull”, “Staircase, Hall of Clestrain”, “Nightgown” and “Ramsquoy Barn”, “Tapestry” and one of my alltime favorite photographs “Mona’s Kitchen”.
Check them out. One of life’s biggest mysteries is why fine art photographs are priced so…LOW. These are worth every penny and more, trust me.
